Fish-Related Ramblings! :)
(mostly squids)
FIRST YAP OF THE WEBSITE! It's about: VAMPIRE SQUIDS!
So, to start, let's classify them! Vampire squids, despite what their name suggests, aren't actually squids! They're more closely related to octopus than squids, but even then; they're not octopus either! Vampire Squids are in their own order, " Vampyromorphida". Everything else in the Vampire Squid's family is long dead, and Vampire Squids themselves are labeled as living fossils! Their scientific name, "Vampyroteuthis infernalis" means "Vampire Squid From Hell". Which, is ironic given that Vampire squid don't even hunt! They eat exclusively Marine Snow (I really like this defenition of Marine Snow!). Oh, and, according to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Vampire squid have the largest eyes on any animal! A Vampire Squid's max length is around 30 cm (1 ft). Oh! And here's one of my fave vampire squid videos :)
